Rainy Monday

Well, today was, as the title says, rainy. I got up ate breakfast, watched some of the news, then headed off to school. Had Biology class, seemed like it would never end, then came home. Once home I made some Ramen noodles and watched Family Feud, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, and Merv Griffen's Crosswords. Then I worked on the creative movement that I have to teach on Wed. and then just did some web surfing. Then at about 6:30 Mom,Dad, and I went to Struts (an awesome restaurant here in town.) I had honey barbq wings, Dad had lemon pepper wings, and Mom had the oyster basket. Dad and I shared an order of fries. I only ate 5 out of 10 of my wings and brought the rest home. So that wraps up my day.

Here is a poem I wrote today. The inspiration came to me while sitting in class. Funny how that happens.

Beautiful Damp Day

Brilliant bursts of sunlight glisten unbroken
Past the impenetrable, ebony, celestial puffs.

They radiate through moist droplets on my windowpane,
Making the dullness outside seem less ghastly.

The separate droplets race down the slippery glass,
Slowly they merge and form one long strand.

Unlike the previous times of gloomy weather,
The beauty has gracefully entered into my mind's eye.

Oh, how did I miss such a sight before?
Such beauty during such a dark period.

I shall never forget this day.
This beautiful, nice day. The day when

Brilliant bursts of sunlight glistened unbroken
Past the impenetrable, ebony, celestial puffs, and

Radiated through moist droplets on my windowpane and
Made the dullness outside seem less ghastly.

  1. Hi, that's a great Tolstoy quote on your sidebar.

Keep writing, it's wonderful to be able to put words on a beautiful moment like that.
