It's been a month

So it has been a month since I last posted. I apologize for this. I have been so busy with school. There have been times that I could post, but was really just too lazy. I will try to do better. Now on with the post.

The Perfect Time of Year

In the sky the clouds are plenty.
On the ground the leaves move freely.
In the house all is warm and toasty.
It is the perfect time of the year.

The children run outside so happily.
They jump and shout with so much joy.
The ground is covered in leaves moving free.
This is the perfect time of the year.

The crunch of the leaves is heard as the children run freely.
The cold can't keep them away,
They are wrapped in coats to keep them warm and toasty.
This is the perfect time of the year.

The children have fun as they laugh and play with joy.
The time of year has come where there are no worries just to be free.
They never knew they could feel this way, they play so happily.
This is the perfect time of the year.

This next one will take a little while to edit. I like the basic point of it.

The Signs of Spring

The roses are blooming there aroma sweet.
The birds sing their melody is the soft tweet, tweet.
The snow has melted, the sun is high.
The animals have woken, knowing spring is nigh.

The meadows are green, as the sun shines bright.
The morning dew sparkles, sparkles in the new days light.
The rivers run free, for the ice is gone.
The animals drink freely, the winter days are done.

The sounds of the days are soft and nice.
For the springs warmth has broken through the cold, cold ice.
The animals sing with joy, as they stretch and reach.
And down in Georgia you can see the signs of a new peach.

The signs of spring have come again, now all creation seems to gleam.
The animals seem bright as they sit in the sun's light beam.
The deer eat the new grass as the larks sing.
The whole world is happy for the gifts of spring.

Spring shows off its beauty as the sun shines bright.
The animals are happy in the new day's light.
The baby Foxes play, and the tadpoles swim and fawns gallop around gaily.
The signs of spring have brought out all the creations joy daily.

Eating, chatting, and posting.

I am currently eating, chatting to Cait on AIM, and posting. I am so awesome. You know you are jealous. No really, I'm not that awesome. So without further vanity, here is the post for the day.

Freedom

Freedom is more than doing what you want.
Freedom is being able to see things in your own way.

Freedom is being able to spread your wings and fly off into the horizon.
Freedom is being able to be what and who you want to be.

Yet freedom is still much more than this.
Freedom is being able to take off the chains that bind you to the wall.

Freedom is being able to leave your cold, damp cell.
Freedom is what everyone dreams of even if they are told they are free.

So what does it truly mean to be free?
Maybe one day we will know, but for right now we shall continue to dream of being free.

I really like this next one. I already revised it a little bit. Just a few things here and there. I think there are still things to fix. All in all it is a good poem.

Been a while

So I am sorry that it has been so long. I have just been so busy. So I started school again today and I feel great. I love being in school.

Anyway back to the poetry. Here is the last poem I did in the revised form.

Flying Free

Flying free over all my foes.
Flying free, for freedom I can know.
Flying free over all the lakes.
Flying free, so thrills I can take.

Flying free is all I want to do.
Flying free, I feel brand new.
Flying free, my sorrows all fade.
Flying free, I am no longer afraid.

Flying free my troubles aren't what they seem.
Flying free I'm so happy I could gleam.
Flying free is all that I need.
Flying free, I am the true me.

I wish I hadn't had waited so long to get back to blogging, but I guess I was busy and just kind of never felt like I had the time. I promise I will stay up to date with it. Since I have 2 online classes maybe I will remember now. We will see.

Saying Goodbye to a dear friend

Yesterday my family had to say goodbye to a dear dear friend. Our dog Pinto died yesterday in a tragic turn of events. I will not put the details up, but it was something that could have been avoided, but for various reasons it happened. It was no one's fault. It was just a tragedy. We are all still getting used to not seeing him running around outside. I am not sure if Butterscotch has figured out that he is no longer with us, but she does seem to look for him when she goes out.

Pinto sniffing around for crumbs.

Pinto laying down. A rare moment.

Now I am going to put down some things I will never forget about Pinto.

1. When we got Pinto 8 years ago, he was so cute and hyper. One of his ears stood up and the other was still halfway up. It was adorable.
2. He used to attack my best friends toes when she wore toe socks. He loved to attack her toes for some reason.
3. Pinto loved to run around in the yard.
4. One of Pinto's favorite things to do was chase the guineas that were from the neighbors house up our trees when they got in our yard. We think he didn't really want to catch them, but just to make the fly up in the trees. It was more of a game than a chase.
5. Pinto always knew when I had just put chapstick on. I swear he would come running and try to lick it off.
6. Pinto LOVED rides. Even when he was a puppy he would want to go for rides. The only thing was when he was young he would get car sick but thankfully he grew out of it.
7. Pinto would be a jerk to Butterscotch at times, but I know they loved each other like brother and sister. He was a great sibling to her.
8. Pinto could jump. I mean JUMP! We had to build a wall to keep him in the laundry room while we were gone when he was a pup and he learned to jump over it. Dad made it higher and he still jumped over it. Eventually we had the pieces of plywood that we put on top of each other and there was like an inch from the ceiling. That kept him in but when we got home you could hear him jumping on the wall. With him sitting on the ground he could just jump up to about my arm. It was amazing.
9. Pinto would eat anything. Well almost anything. He couldn't quite figure out how to eat a muscadine. It was fun to watch though. He loved anything potato. He even ate potato peelings.
10. The last couple of months Pinto kept running out into the woods whenever someone got home. There was something back there that he was after. We don't know what but he was always going after it.

Pinto will be missed, but never forgotten. He was a great dog. Our yard will never be the same. Maybe one day we will find another fun loving dog, but no dog will ever replace him.

A Week gone by so fast

I am so sorry for waiting a week before posting again. I am NOT going to revise the last poem. I am instead going to put up some newer poems. All of these are coming from my CURRENT poetry notebook.

Broken Glass

Glass shatters at my feet,
Bittersweet aroma wafts upward.

I sweep away the fragments,
And think of you following behind him.

Slowly I watch history repeat,
Will you realize before it's to late?

I watch you sip away,
I watch as you slowly slip away.

Broken glass at my feet,
I sweep them up.

Broken glass at my feet,
I'm to afraid to touch it.

Broken glass at my feet,
I might get hurt.

Glass shattered at my feet,
Bittersweet memories waft upward.

Moving Forward

I just want to know why our love failed so badly.
I just want to know why our love failed at all.

Sitting in the corner,
I watch as the world passes me by.
I don't feel like I once did.
I don't feel the same without you.

Why did our love have to fail?
I thought it would last forever.

Sitting in the corner,
You can't see my tears.
They fall down my checks,
But you won't see them.

Our love my have failed, but I don't care.
I will just continue to move forward.

This next poem was inspired one day by watching the rain on the window of my biology class. It was the first time that I ever wrote a poem about rain without it being melancholy.

Beautiful Damp Day

Brilliant bursts of sunlight glisten unbroken
Past the impenetrable, ebony, celestial puffs.

They radiate through moist droplets on my windowpane,
Making the dullness outside seem less ghastly.

The separate droplets race down the slippery glass,
Slowly they merge and form one long strand.

Unlike the previous times of gloomy weather,
The beauty has gracefully entered into my mind's eyes.

Oh, how did I miss such a sight before?
Such beauty in such a dark period.

I shall never forget this day.
This beautiful, nice day. The day when

Brilliant bursts of sunlight glistened unbroken
Past the impenetrable, ebony, celestial puffs, and

Radiated through moist droplets on my windowpane and
Made the dullness outside seem less ghastly.

A little bit o' fun today

Well today I am going to do a normal post, but there is a fun poem I came across that I want to share. I am not planning on editing it. I will post it last.

When

When will the sun come out from behind the dark clouds?
When will the flowers show their colors out of the cold ground?
When will the leaves grow on the tree's dead limbs?

When will my heart be set free from these horrible chains so that I can fly?
When will they see that this gloom is gone?
When will they see that spring has come?

When will winter spread its wings and fly?
When will they unlock these horrible bars so I can fly up high?
When will my life be full of joy again?

When will the hot sun melt the cold, cold snow?
When will the life come back that I used to know?
When will all these things fulfill my dreams?

Revised: July 28, 2009

This next one will need some work. I was trying way to hard to rhyme. I did that a lot at that point in my writing. Oh well, what can I do? Edit, edit, edit. That is what.

Flying Free

Flying free over all my foes.
Flying free for freedom I can know.
Flying free over all the lakes.
Flying free so thrills I can take.

Flying free is all I want to do.
Flying free I feel like brand new.
Flying free my sorrows all fade.
Flying free my fees don't have to be paid.

Flying free my troubles aren't what they seem.
Flying free I'm so happy I could gleam.
Flying free is all that I need.
Flying free I am the true me.

Now for the fun poem I promised. I wrote this one day when I was in a writers block. Needless to say it got me out of the block.

Writers Block

I'm at a writer's block,
and I can't find the key to open the lock.
My head is full, but my heart is empty,
please God show me sympathy.

Knitting away and continuing to post!

Well I am almost done with Mom's blanket. I think I can get away with finishing it with the 7th skein. I was going to do 8 skeins, but I think I can convince Mom that it is long enough. Once I finish the actual knitting, then I am going up to the Ewe to learn how to weave in the ends and fix dropped stitches. Then I can also add tassels on the four corners. After that it will be ready for use. I can't wait to have it done. I have learned a lot about patience with this project.

Well anyway here is the post for today. Hope you enjoy it.

Lost

I am at a loss of words to say.
Now that I have lost my way.
What am I to do? What am I to say?
I now pray you will help lead me along my way.

I lie down my burdens, my sorrows, and pains.
Then maybe they won't drive me insane.
I you to help me along.
I need you to lead, teach and show me how to carry on.

Yet after you help I could never repay,
What you did and will do everyday.
You take away my fear and replace it with joy.
For I am at a loss of everything but your love.

This next poem is a good example of how much I hate winter time.

When

When will the sun come out from behind the dark clouds?
When will the flowers show their colors out of the cold ground?
When will the leaves grow on the tree's dead limbs?
When will my heart be set free from these horrible chains so I can fly?
